On any given day, when someone comes to look at the house, there shouldn’t be any dishes in the sink, dirty towels on the floor, or toys all over.

Put things you’re not using at the moment (such as seasonal items) in a separate storage facility. This way, the storage areas in the home will be more open, giving you plenty of space in which to store the things you still have.
